Privacy Policy

TikTok Photo Downloader (tiktokphotodownloader.com) lets you save public TikTok posts: you paste a link, our server looks the post up on TikTok, and the video, photos or sound go to your device. This policy explains which information that involves, what it is used for, who else sees it and how quickly it is gone. "We", "us" and "our" refer to the people who run tiktokphotodownloader.com.

The short version

• You never upload anything. The only thing you hand us is a TikTok link.
• Photos and sounds download from TikTok straight to your browser. Videos stream through our server. No downloaded file is ever written to disk or to any storage.
• The details of a lookup sit in memory for at most 30 minutes so the download buttons keep working, and are then dropped.

• There is no sign-up, so we never learn your name or email address.

Information you give us

The link you paste. The address of a public TikTok post, sent to our server when you press the download button. We use it only to find that post on TikTok.

Emails. If you write to us, we keep the thread so we can answer you.

Information collected automatically

• The lookup record. When our fetcher finds a post, it keeps a short note in memory: the post ID and the addresses of its files on TikTok. This is what lets the MP4, photo and MP3 buttons work after the lookup. The note is deleted after 30 minutes at the latest and is never saved to disk.
• The files themselves. Photos and sounds are fetched by your browser directly from TikTok, and a sound that isn't an MP3 yet is converted on your device. Videos, and photos or sounds your browser can't fetch itself, pass through our server as they arrive (sounds are then converted there). Nothing is kept once the transfer ends.
• What TikTok sees. When your browser fetches a photo or a sound from TikTok, TikTok's servers receive your IP address and browser details, as they do whenever you view TikTok content. TikTok handles that under its own privacy policy. Video downloads come from our server, so TikTok sees our server instead of you.
• Rate limiting. To stop one visitor from flooding the service, our server remembers your IP address in memory for a few seconds between lookups. It is not written to logs or a database for this purpose.
• Request logs. Like every website, our host records your IP address, browser type and the pages you open, in order to serve the site and fend off attacks.

• Visit counts. We measure traffic with Plausible Analytics, which sets no cookies and stores nothing that identifies you. We only see totals such as page views, countries and referrers.

Cookies and local storage

We set no cookies. Your browser's local storage remembers just one thing: whether you chose the light or dark theme. Clearing your site data resets it.

Services that handle data for us

A few outside services are involved in running the site, and each gets only what its job requires:

• Cloudflare — hosts the site and passes downloads through; like any web host it sees your IP address when you connect.
• TikTok — serves the posts you download: our server looks each post up and passes videos through, while your browser fetches photos and sounds from TikTok directly, so TikTok sees your IP address for those.

• Plausible Analytics — counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.

We will share information if the law obliges us to, or if it is needed to prevent fraud or protect someone's safety. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising.

How long things are kept

• Lookup records: in memory only, for 30 minutes at most.
• Downloaded files: not kept at all; videos only pass through our server, and photos and sounds don't touch it.
• Rate-limit data: a few seconds, in memory.
• Request logs: for the limited period our host keeps them to run and protect the site.

Your rights

Email us and we will tell you what, if anything, we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it or delete it. We reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (the EU, the UK or California, for example), you may have additional rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Children

TikTok Photo Downloader is not intended for anyone under 13. If you are younger, please do not use the site.

Security

All traffic to and from the site is encrypted with HTTPS. Because we don't store downloaded files or keep accounts, there is very little about you on our side that could ever be exposed.

Where processing happens

Our host runs servers in many countries, so a request you make may be handled outside the country you live in.

Updates to this policy

Whenever this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes too. If a change affects what we collect, we will point it out on the site before it applies.
